RAW VIDEO: Chilling Footage which Shows Assault on Driver that Fatally Struck Pedestrian Surfaces

scene 2RAW VIDEO: [VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED] The serious assault on the driver that fatally struck a pedestrian last Saturday, was captured on cell phone video, and has surfaced.

The video shows a chaotic and emotional scene before police arrive about 60 seconds into the video.

The video shows the attacker come from behind and assault the 26 year old driver moments after he exited his vehicle to check on the severely wounded woman.

A serious blow to the driver’s head left him apparently unconscious on the ground, just feet away from the road. He was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police ultimately charged the attacker with Aggravated Assault.

  1. There should be an internal investigation of both the Police dept and EMS. It is very apparent the no officer is protecting the injured driver from further assault!!!!! since when is it the civilians job????. In a volatile situation one would think that there would be more crowd control. True there were trying to help another injured party but #1 the party was in cardiac arrest and rules of seen triage is that if you are in cardiac arrest then you are a black tag ( left alone) so that resources can be freed up to work on more viable patient. You can clearly see someone from EMS walk right by the drive without even taking a second glance. Extremely unprofessional and just not good field craft.

  2. To Anom…are you kidding me? Triage situation ? You obviously saw the same video everybody else saw!! What do you think would have happened if she “black tagged” the the trauma code. That’s the most ridiculous and poorly educated statement. If you think hostility was bad imagine what it would have been like if she abandoned one patient for another in this situation!!??
The standard for triage DOES NOT APPLY HERE!! As more officers and ambulances arrived (not shown in video) the scene was secured and both patients were treated and transported. Take your “unprofessional and not good field craft” ridiculous statements and go back to your mirror for self satisfaction!!

  3. To those who don’t like the video: Did you even read what TLS wrote? “viewer discretion is advised’ which basically means it’s not something for everyone. If you don’t like such videos, don’t watch them.

And I’m glad the scoop posted it. Let people learn that street justice is not the way to go.

  4. It’s a miracle that this is the first fatality in that area, given the reckless behavior those pedestrians exhibit while crossing the road there with total disregard to themselves and the innocent drivers.

On many occasions I’ve observed certain types of pedestrians (in the greater downtown Lakewood area) that purposely start crossing the street very slowly in front of oncoming vehicles, causing many screeches and near-misses. The threatening I-dare-you-to-hit-me-attitude towards innocent people just trying to get about their daily lives is a serious problem. There are designated crossing points that should be used, especially on the faster speed limit roads. This accident will hopefully reinforce that lesson.

With regard to the animalistic attack on the driver – the perpetrator needs to learn that this is a land of law and order by being locked up in a prison cell. Unfortunately the lesson learned from his attack is that if a driver is involved in a serious accident when in a bad neighborhood, he should NOT leave his vehicle to check on the injured for fear of assault.

Most likely the driver was unaware that this is a bad area, and it’s a tragedy that the police did not arrive sooner to serve and protect.

Lastly, regardless of who’s to blame – I send my condolences to all bereaved relatives, including the attacker. I also wish the driver a full recovery. My final hope is that law enforcement conduct a thorough investigation of all the relevant facts and true justice will prevail.

  5. I agree with the scoop for posting the video… I did not watch it! I read the article and CHOSE NOT TO WATCH THE VIDEO. The scoop is the best at keeping us informed of what goes on in Lakewood! The Lpd answers calls and does an awesome job concidering it is LAKEWOOD. LPD and EMS should be thanked everyday for the thankless jobs they have GOD bless them all. The whole situation is sad I feel bad for all involved . Thank you Lakewood Scoop, EMS and LPD for ALL you do for us.

  6. Wow! One can really cannot state the reality on TLS no matter how muted you say it. Okay, let’s just say we have absolutely great neighbors, as seen in this video. Is that better, TLS?

  7. I cannot understand all these people defending the monster that killed my best friend. He had no business driving. And if he was going to disobey the law and drive on suspension he should have at least obeyed traffic laws. She would still be here had he not violently struck her traveling at high speeds. There’s not a single person on this thread that would not have been driven to rage having watched their sister murdered like this. Then he had the audacity to get out of the car to “check on her”… He was only checking to see if he was going to be facing vehicular manslauter… he couldn’t have cared less about her actual well being!

  8. I am sorry for you and your friend. However two wrongs do not make a right, those people that beat this man could not have known he was on a suspended license. Do you honestly feel that if you cause an accident that you deserve to be beaten to death? I can safely assume that you never speed or caused an accident because then you would know how easy it is to make a mistake. I pray that you or someone you love never get in a accident and gets beaten for it instead of letting the law handle it.
