Three people were injured, one seriously, after being attacked by a pit bull in two separate incidents in the last 24 hours, officials confirm to TLS.
At about 2 PM this afternoon, Lakewood police responded to a home for the reports of a dog attack.
Upon arrival, police learned that a homeowner was holding his infant child when he was attacked by his 2-year-old pit bull.
The man was reportedly bitten on both his arms and thigh, and suffered over 20 puncture wounds. The infant was not injured.
The woman, officials say, was also bitten, though her injuries were reportedly not as severe.
The male was transported to Ocean Medical Center in Brick. The woman went on her own to another hospital, officials say.
The dog was taken from the home by Animal Control, and will be put down upon the request of the family, officials told TLS.
In a separate incident shortly after midnight last night, a child was attacked by a pit bull inside his home, sources told TLS. The child, bitten in his lower back, was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus for treatment. Further details of that incident were not immediately available.

No one should have that kind of dogs. So sad.
It’s not the dogs to blame, I have two pits and they don’t hurt anyone, blame the people who raise them!
We raise dogs, its all how you raise them! But occassionally you can get a dog with a skiddish temperment – those are the ones to be careful with. We had to put one of own down because of that. You cant mess around with a skiddish temperment. Theyll turn even on their owner no matter how loveable you raise them
This wouldn’t be bad IF they were the only pit bull attacks that occurred in this country over the weekend. But they aren’t. And they aren’t even the most serious. In Ohio, a 59-year old woman was killed by a pit bull. Another incident involved a pit bull attacking an 8 year old girl. When her father tried to get the dog off the girl, he had his testicles nearly detached! In another case, a Chicago boy was attacked by a roaming pit bull. It latched on to his face and wouldn’t let go. These attacks are happening every single day. So far, 17 people have been killed by pit bulls, 14 of those victims are children. It doesn’t matter how sweet your own pit bull is, the truth is this breed kills and mauls far too often. There are many pit bulls out there who have never hurt anyone. .. . YET. And that’s the problem.
You pit bull lovers make me sick!!!!! The words that come out of your mouth are disgusting!!!!!! There has been to many of these incidents, we as in the people who would never own these monsters, know that these so called dogs are not the kind of animal to have as a family pet period!!! U pit bull lovers need to give up the it’s the owners fault and I have pit bulls and they wouldn’t hurt a fly!!! It doesn’t work anymore!!!!! We know they have it in them to turn because of jealousy or whatever, and we know what they are capable of period!!!!
Please name for me another breed of dog which so frequently attacks children. You can’t. They are dangerous and should not be allowed as pets, especially in homes with young children!

Yeh it’s definitely the people. Sometimes you get skiddush people so I guess we should be putting them down! It’s definitely not the dogs, they are innocent.
