Where is Governor Christie on the Missing New Jersey Boy?

press 1Relatives and friends of Aaron Sofer, the Lakewood boy missing in Israel, are wondering why the Governor of New Jersey has not come out with a statement about one of his constituents.

The following message was submitted to TLS by a relative of Aaron.

“While there have been public statements from N.J. Senators, Senator Menendez and Senator Booker expressing their concern for missing Lakewood N.J‎. resident Aaron Sofer, it has been very noticeable that there has been no public statement from Governor Chris Christie.

While the Israeli response for t‎he search mission for Aaron Sofer has been very slow and delayed, in the last 2 days the Israeli government has started to allocate more resources to f‎inding Aaron Sofer due to pressure by American Elected Officials.

Please take one minute of your time and call the office of Governor Christie and in a re‎fined and polite way ask that he release a statement to the Israeli Government expressing his concern for Aaron Sofer. H‎is phone # is 609-292-6000.”

  1. His office opens at 8:30 in the morning. Being that he is a viable future presidential candidate, he carries a lot of clout with the Israelis. Hopefully this will push them to do more

  2. Im sorry but I dont see the point of this….We have enough politicians calling for him back…We need to have hkb’h help us find him safe bez’h.

  3. It is a worthwhile effort to call Christie. I’m sure that if he receives enough calls he will get more publicly involved. The Israelis are very dependent on America. This can add some pressure to intensify their search efforts.

  4. He’s in Arkansas he doesn’t have time for the little people anymore he’s to busy running for president. We should send him a message that his first priority is to the people of his state and being that WE were a major part of getting him elected it is fair and reasonable to expect that the leader of the state of which a man was abducted should be out front and center on this issue.

  5. why does this have to be all about politicians coming out and making statements…one of our brothers are missing and people here are even thinking about Christie!! By now I’m sure the search is heavily being instructed!! What everyone should be doing now instead of worrying about who should be coming out making statements is just daven and daven more!!!

  6. This should take precedence for Christie over his position as the national Chairman of the Republican Governors in which he goes to many different states. As Eric Cantor learned (the hard way) the worst think a politician can do is forget his “loyal home base”. It can have bad political consequences.

  7. Guys I think you ought to relax and give Christie the benefit of the doubt. After all he has a history of claiming to be completely uninformed of what goes on within his own inner circle. Thus, it is highly plausible that he is unware of Aron’s disapperance. I do believe that calling him is the right thing to do.

  8. Really If you know how government works he is the governor of NJ. typically governors do not have much standing in national affairs. The senator and congressman are involoved They can have some pull. But realistically what exactly do you want from them? What more would you like for them to do here in US to about a situation in Israel? We must daven> I don’t see any point in shlepping the governor into this, Except make some people happy that they got him to make a statement. Thats as much as he can do anyway. SO you get his statement. Yeepee. Now what? Right now Daven ,daven and daven some more.

  9. I just called the governors office. I spoke to one of his aides, they told me the governor was “NOT” aware of the lackluster response of the Israeli government, and was researching the matter and that he will consider releasing a statement and contacting the Israeli authorities. I think if he receives a few hundred additional phone calls it can only help. Kol Yisroel Arevim Zeh LaZeh.
