FMBA Local 80: We are pleased to announce that the Lakewood Career Firefighters, FMBA Local 80 is conducting a township wide fire safety poster contest. The purpose of the contest is to recognize those elementary school students that best demonstrate an understanding of fire safety tips.
The contest will take place during the month of October to coincide with Fire Prevention Week (October 5-11) to help emphasize and support your fire safety education efforts. The 2014 National Fire Protection Association campaign theme is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month!” The contest will be divided into 3 division categories:
Division #1 – Kindergarten through Second Grade
Division # 2 – Third through Fifth Grade
SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS
Division #3 – Kindergarten through Fifth Grade
Posters will be judged first by the Lakewood Career Firefighters, FMBA Local 80 Firefighters and those winning in each division category will be named. All entries submitted to our Fire Department will be displayed. The winners will be entered into the 2014-2015 Fire Prevention Poster Contest, sponsored jointly by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Division of Fire Safety and the New Jersey State Fire Prevention and Protection Association.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to work with the students in your school to reinforce your efforts in safeguarding Lakewood and, in particular, its children.

Fire Safety Poster Contest Prizes:
3 – First Place Winners, each will receive a $100.00 gift card to Target
3 – Second Place Winners, each will receive a gift certificate for Inline Skates from Toys 4 U
3 – Third Place Winners, each will receive a $25.00 gift card to Target
The winning posters from each municipality get entered into the County poster contest, the winning posters from each county get entered into the State poster contest.
Every student that takes part in the 2014 National Fire Prevention Poster Contest, receives a certificate of participation from the FMBA 80
