Each holding the name of a fallen 9/11 firefighter, Lakewood’s newest firefighter recruits, as well as the other County Academy recruits, honored their memory yesterday by walking up 36 flights of stairs.
The recruits, in full gear, walked up 343 steps yesterday, serving as a memorial for the 343 firefighters who perished trying to save innocent lives during the 9/11 attacks.
The recruits, most of whom are Frum, will be graduating the academy in December.

Why does it matter that most of the recruits are Frum, regardless of being frum or not they did it in memory of 9/11, I don’t think there was a need for any mention of that!
If u read that again it doesn’t say anything about the drum recruits walking for 911….. All it’s saying is, is that most of the recruits from Lkwd are frum……
To anonymous….again why does it matter? It shouldn’t, the brotherhood of firefighting doesn’t look at race or religion, with all the gear on they all look the same!
To curious. It’s nice to let the community know that there are frum people signing up and training to become firefighters
