PHOTO: Local Cafe Burglarized, Thousands in Cash Stolen

shellis cafePHOTO: The Shelli’s Cafe in Chateau Plaza was burglarized overnight, and had thousands of dollars in cash stolen, the owners say.

The perpetrator, or perpetrators, reportedly forced their way into a rear door at about 3:30 a.m., and destroyed all three cash registers and made off with thousands of dollars in cash, the owners said.

CSI is investigating the incident.

  1. My father owns a grocery and always always leaves a small amount of cash with the register open. This way, in case of a break-in, the registers aren’t destroyed and the thieves don’t make off with much. Experience has proven this true.

  2. Scary, thats basically in my backyard!
    Nowhere is safe anymore!
    Time to set alarms, bar windows, and lock car doors.
    I feel terrible for the owners – I hope they had security cameras to help them find the culprit!

  3. who leaves so much cash in a store over night not in a secured safe? cash registers should be left open with a small amount of cash. speaking from experience
