  1. I never thought I would be the one who needed Tomchei Shabbos. I was never wealthy but was able to pay the bills and not owe money. We did not own a home but we were not in debt . I even volunteered with my children to pack for Tomchei Shabbos a few times, never thinking I may need these packages one day.

Over a half a year ago I lost my job which I had for many years. My former employer did unethical things to stop me from finding parnasa for the coming year as I guess I am a threat to their business. They could care less how I make a living to feed my family. The money we worked and set aside over any years for a down payment of a future home has now dwindled. Unemployment funds have ended. The government has not extended the program. Supposedly there are abundance of Jobs.

A relative knowing my situation dropped of the boxes making some weird story so my children would not figure out the true source. My wife and I did figure it out. Although its very humbling to have to come unto others – Thank you Tomchei Shabbos for helping us.. At least we know you care.
