In a video with TLS today, longtime Republican Ocean County Freeholder Joseph Vicari spoke about some of his accomplishments and plans both locally and county-wide.
Running against Vicari on the Democratic ticket is Timothy Ryan.

Mr Vacari, You speak about RT-9 Widening in Ocean County. Those of us living in or traveling through Lakewood all know that the condition of Rt-9 as it runs trough Lakewood, is a disaster. Its been so for many years and keeps getting worse. The congestion on Rt-9 not only affects motorist traveling on the roadway, it also creates backups on the roads flowing into Rt-9.
You are asking the Lakewood residents to re-elect you this November, yet you’ve been in office since 1981 and you’ve done absolutely nothing to lobby the State to alleviate the congestion on RT-9. That’s a staggering 33 years worth of opportunities to correct this issue. Do you really believe that you deserve any votes here in Lakewood? Do you understand that the number one issue in Lakewood in which you as a freeholder were capable of addressing and resolving was this very issue you stressed in your campaign video was RT-9, yet 33 years in office and you have absolutely nothing to show for it.
You may be a nice guy, but the Lakewood residents need someone in office that can actually get things done for Lakewood.
