Gov Christie Declares State of Emergency; Speed Restrictions in Place

snow trafficAs a precaution, Governor Christie today has declared a state of emergency for the State of New Jersey.

 

The Governor has also announced a 45 MPH speed restriction for the entire New Jersey Turnpike, as well as a 45 MPH speed restriction for the Garden State Parkway from mile marker 100, until the New York State line.

Plowing operations have commenced in most of North region and a large portion of Central region.

There are more than 1,900 NJDOT and contractor vehicles spreading salt and plowing as necessary, the Governor said.
