Lakewood PBA Local #71 would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Family and Friends of Officer Rafeal Ramos,Officer Wenjian Liu and all our Brothers and Sisters in our NYPD family.
This past weekend two New York Police Officers were killed in the Line Of Duty. Officer Rafeal Ramos and Officer Wenjian Liu. The travesty that occurred in New York in past days brings me back to January 11, 2011 when officer Christopher Matlosz was senselessly murdered while on uniformed patrol sitting in his marked patrol car almost four years ago.
These senseless murders were committed due to one simple fact. The men who wore these uniforms were Police Officers. Please remember when you are home this holiday season having dinner, opening gifts and enjoying your holiday there will be Police Officers working, keeping you safe to enjoy your families while they are away from theirs. These Officers were not just Police Officers they were someone’s Father, Son, Brother and Friend who will be missed.
I encourage all who read this letter to remember the Families of these fallen HEROS during this Holiday Season.
