  1. Not sure how you got to lakewood from the national weather services post. They said northern New Jersey and northeastward… Lakewood is central to southern New Jersey.

  2. the computer weather models have been showing this since yesterday. actually a few of them are showing 20-30 inches for lakewood, but who’s counting?

  3. the projection for ocean county is listed in the article. north Jersey is possible to get even more. no one knows what will actually be but all weather services are projecting about 6in minimum in our areas

  4. Agree with Notsofast ,where were the trucks when the roads had snow on them yesterday afternoon , not at 9:30 last night when the snow was gone? When they went past my house the streets were dry.

  7. Alex liberman…u live in a tent with a computer? Wifi or you have a loooonnnggg plug? Maybe cable delivers to the woods? Oh right. You get arrested once a week and use the prison computer on our tax money

  8. The township needs to enforce the laws regarding people and institutions that are too lazy to shovel their front sidewalks and thereby endanger the lives of pedestrians. Last year I saw many citizens forced to walk in the cleared roadway while cars sped by because certain sidewalks were impassable because the property owner didn’t care to clear his sidewalk.

  9. Stop kvetching…
Some people will always complain about this sort of thing. Why don’t they get it? Its usually counterproductive to complain. Maybe I just don’t get it….

  10. When are the sheeple in this town going to rise up and demand more for our taxes from the department of public works the job they do during snow storms is horrendous! All you need to do is drive thru Lakewood and compare the state and county roads to the township roads and you will see for yourself!!!

  11. They need to have early dismissel of school tomorrow so all the bus drivers can get home safely too. Remember when your kids are home they are still on the road then they also have to drive home

  12. If schools aren’t closed hope they use early dismissal for safety of busses and staff. Many schools are starting to list early dismissals on channel 4,7 and 12. Let’s hope Lakewood makes the right decision

  13. Just saw on my tablet on channel 12, 314 schools are having early dismissal, guess they care about their students and staff and want to see that they get home safely. Lakewood used to care but lately I don’t know what they are thinking when it comes to safety. I would rather have my child home early than worry about them in a bus on slippery roads.

  14. right cause lakewoods school board has everyone’s best interest in mind. If it’s as serious as they say then close the school. Bad enough that there’s certain people out on the roads endangering the lives of others.

  15. Dear Chaveirim
    As I would not even want to take my car out, and be safe, I was wondering the following;
Instead of Chaveirim being busy digging out cars from driveways or streets, Provide mass transit bussing! We will then all be able to go to Yeshiva, Satmer, shopping, Simchos, etc…
Surely emergency vehicles, & thoose with special needs will be accomadated better. May Hashem wach over us, just as it is in his hands that this storm go out to the sea.

  16. Lakewood BOE will not issue an early release because the Jewish population does not want their whole broods home with them for hours on end. Nevermind the concern for the safety of public school kids or faculty/staff of their district.

  17. Probably because some people think their kids can’t miss any school. You can always make up time later in the year. Sure hope they close school tomorrow. If people don’t care about the safety of their own think of others. If there are accidents on dry roads ,what about snow covered slick roads?

  18. Lakewood Board of Education has not decide on an Early release yet. What are they waiting for. Please the bus drivers do not want to be driving in this weather. it seems like Lakewood doesnt care.

  19. Your garbage cans should not be on the roads. They are to be taken off the street after pick-up. Another rule people of Lakewood don’t follow.

  20. Your children don’t need to be in school during weather such as this. When “everybody” is told to stay off the road, that includes parents driving children to Yeshiva. What part of “everybody” is so difficult to understand?
