LCSW: Pair Attempted to Lure Young Girl into their Vehicle

lcsw lpdThe Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch today issued an alert regarding a pair that allegedly attempted to lure a young girl into their vehicle.

The eight-year-old girl was reportedly walking to a friend’s home in the area of the Kew Gardens/Villas on Thursday, when a vehicle pulled up alongside her, an LCSW coordinator tells TLS. The occupants, said to be a black man and woman, allegedly told the youngster to come into their vehicle, at which point the girl fled, the coordinator said.

A police report was made, but the suspects were not located.

Today, LCSW received a call again stating that the suspect vehicle was again spotted in the same area.

The vehicle is described as a white older model Honda Accord, with a black stripe on the hood area.

Anyone with information is asked to call LCSW.

  1. A child of 8 is too young to be walking anywhere on their own. If anything had happened to that child, the onus would be on the parents.

  2. Calling the police is pointless unless there is someone who witnessed the perpetrator in the act of luring the child. Stopping and talking to a child is not in and of itself a criminal act. Children should be trained to run and scream loudly if they are approached by ANYONE except for immediate family.

  3. the police take 20 min to respond even when you call for a shooting, call lcsw so they can at lest keep track or the perpatrator till the police finish their coffee!!!

  4. Calling the police is NOT pointless. It could lead to the arrest of the suspects very quickly if the police know who to look for. Case in point is the attempts made Sept 2013. Parents called police, suspect stopped, arrested and currently sitting in jail. Don’t give out bad advice.

  5. Exactly Steven all you can remember is 1 case that the cops caught the guy anyways best to notify both as they can canvas the area and have the info. As the cops and lcsw are on the road alot of the day & can easily spot the perp.thank you again all that keep our streets safe and give us peace of mind.

  6. A police report was made, but the suspects were not located. THE POLICE WERE NOTIFIED AND A REPORT WAS MADE! Why does everyone hate LCSW so much!! They are helping along side the police!

  7. Lakewood police officers are the finest in the nation. They have a very quick response time. And btw, this is not the time to bash police officers. In a time like this they need our fullest support. I marvel how the lakewood police department is so sensitive to our needs and culture.

  8. I’ve called LCSW and police in the past and lcsw is always there within a minute or 2 and police it always takes time so again im repeating what the last person said that best is to call both!!!

  9. neighborhood watches and LCSW are all there to assist the Police. Of course the police are first, the secondary ones are necessary bec, the police can’t be everywhere at once….

  10. An article in the Lakewoodscoop identified two persons a man and a women, both black who robbed a frum at gun point several months ago in broad daylight near the lake. Can the robbed frum remember the detailed description of the car and the people in it ??? Is there a link to the attempted abduction of the 8 year old ???? An old white Honda with black strip—–perhaps ????

    A goy,
    Gerry Mullen
