Petirah of Mrs. Ruth Goodman A”H

candleWe regret to inform you of the Petirah of Mrs. Ruth Goodman A”H, who was Niftar Tuesday at the age of 98.

Mrs. Goodman A”H, who lived in Lakewood for the past 28 years, was the wife of Harav Moshe Goodman Z”L, the Rov of Wichita Falls, Texas, until his petirah 48 years ago.

Until she was hospitalized approximately two months ago, Mrs. Goodman lived in the Eleanor Levovitz Apartments.

“All who knew her were uplifted by her Yiras Shamayim, sharp and curious mind and pleasant ways,” a family friend told TLS.

The Levaya was held at the Lakewood Beis Olam just before sundown on Tuesday.

Her daughter, Mrs. Malkah Danziger, is sitting Shivah at her home, 18 Whispering Pines, until Monday morning. Her son, R’ Mordechai Tzvi Goodman, is sitting Shivah at his home in Eretz Yisrael.

  1. What an inspiration Mrs. Goodman was – in the barren desert in Wichita Falls, she raised two wonderful children, developed strong yiras shamayim and committment to making the right choices, regardless of the difficulty. She was such a sweet lady, kind to everyone, ayin tova to everybody, just a special special lady – May she be a true meilitz(a?) yosher for all her family and for her beloved klal yisroel.

  2. What a special lady. She was always so pleasant to be around and to speak with. The pleasant demeanor and friendly conversation Mrs. Goodman always had with those around her were certain to stay you for a lifetime. She really was someone worth emulating.
