BREAKING: Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Cedarbridge Avenue

fatal cedarbridgePHOTO: A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Cedarbridge Avenue late Monday night, officials confirm to TLS.

Police responded to the area of Cedarbridge and Arlington Avenues around 11:00 PM for the report of a pedestrian struck, and upon arrival located the victim lying near the forest in front of the old Tent City, sources say. The pedestrian reportedly rolled over the vehicle, and was thrown several feet.

EMS and Paramedics rushed to the scene, but pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Sources say the man was approximately 45 years old.

Lakewood’s Traffic & Safety units, and CSI are investigating the incident.

Cedarbridge Avenue is shut in both directions between Arlington Avenue and South Clover.

Silly people! this has nothing to do with snow ice or darkness, cedarbridge is a death trap to cross on a hot summer day too. cedarbridge is a major highway you wouldnt cross the GSP dont cross cedarbridge, except at the light. Many people have been killed on this highway already thinking they can make it across. My condolences to the family

  2. I almost hit someone last night on James St. PLEASE wear reflectors, especially if you are going to walk in the street because of snow. I was going slow, but it is so dark you cannot see anyone in dark clothing. Or at least smile wide 🙂

  3. Lost my father Rudi Gaines on this street as well as two good friends. I dont understand why the township has not done anything yet to prevent these accidents from happening. Something needs to be done! To many lives lost. My heart, love, & prayers to the family
