Police: Lakewood Residents were Ordered to the Ground at Gunpoint during Home Invasion

lpd crime scene cov shootingUPDATE: Lakewood residents were ordered to the ground when a man forced his way into their home late Tuesday night, police say.

 

‎As earlier reported, at apprxoimately11:25 p.m. Last night, Officer Charles Messer was dispatched to a Murray Street home in response to a home invasion.

Upon arrival, Officer Messer along with additional responding Officers located four occupants
inside the home.

“Further investigation determined that an unknown male, approx 6′ tall, wearing a red coat and brandishing a shotgun forced his way into the home,” Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith says. “He ordered the residents to the ground while ransacking one of the bedrooms.”

The suspect then fled the home in an unknown direction. None of the residents claimed to have suffered any physical injuries during the event.
