With Bein Hazmanim here, and thousands of additional drivers on the road, motorists and pedestrians are urged to use extra caution around town.
Last night, two teen girls were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of Princeton Avenue and 8h Street, as reported on our news alerts at the time.
The teens, police say, were crossing in a cross walk, but without reflectors, when they were struck by a driver making a left turn.
One of the teens were treated on the scene and released while the other suffered a head injury and was transported by Hatzolah to Jersey Shore Medical University Center. She has since been released, Traffic Safety Officer Erik Menck tells TLS.
The incident was investigated by Officers Erik Menck and Dennis Dowden.

And to add just one more concern, being that it’s a week before Pesach and everyone…or almost everyone is that much more busy and on that much less sleep, most definitely a reason for anyone – a driver or a pedestrian to be more cautious out there on the roads.
If you are dressed all in black driver’s can’t see you. You just blend into the darkness. See this all the time and it’s not the driver’s fault if they can’t see you. Somehow this concept does not seem to get through to the Lakewood community. Get yourself reflectors to be safe. Many of you don’t drive in the evening so you don’t fully comprehend the need for reflectors.
