Driver Loses Control on Icy Road, Crashes into Police Car

howell rigA driver lost control of her vehicle on an icy road last night, and crashed into a police vehicle, Howell Police said this morning.

 

At approximately 7:45 PM, the 23-year-old Howell woman was operating a 2002 Chevy Traiblazer southbound on Lakewood Allenwood Road when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy road.

The woman crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a Howell Police Department marked patrol car (a 2011 Ford Crown Vic) operated by Lt. Michael Martin. Baleanu’s vehicle then went off the road, striking a tree.

The woman was not injured, but Lt. Martin reported an injury to his hand. He refused medical treatment at the scene however. No summonses were issued.
