Mordechai Weinberger, LCSW Releases his First Book ‘Alive’; Exclusive Offer from Artscroll for TLS Readers

alihAfter his more than two years of insightful lectures and one and a half million callers, it’s safe to say that Mordechai Weinberger, LCSW, knows human nature and how to help people. Culled from his work aiding over 3000 clients, Weinberger discovered that the vast majority of people could be helped with advice on ten main issues. Now, finally, at the request of thousands of readers, he has compiled those ten concepts into an amazing new book, Alive!, and it’s been an instant best-seller.

Unlike traditional self-help books, which focus on one topic, Alive! focuses on these ten issues, each one like a book in itself! As Rabbi Abraham J. Twerski, MD, mentions in his Foreword, it can be read all at once, or you can skip to the chapters that cover the topics in which you need the most improvement. When asked what his target audience is, Weinberger explains that this book really is for everyone. As he says, “While the topics in this book are definitely for adults, the book is written to be ‘teenager-friendly’ as well. These are lessons that everyone needs to learn — at any age.”

In Alive!, each chapter focuses on one of the topics, expounding on it and giving you the tools to master the issue and use it to improve your life. In Chapter Two, for example, Weinberger discusses the issue of perfectionism and making mistakes. “People are so afraid to make mistakes,” says Weinberger. “It’s the reason they are afraid to do new things, accept new jobs, try new recipes, have new experiences.” In this chapter, however, the reader learns that making mistakes is vital to growth.

In another chapter, Weinberger deals with the sometimes difficult task of saying no with love. If this is something you’ve struggled with, you’ll learn how saying no to one thing means saying yes to — and prioritizing — another.

In the chapter on personality types, you’ll learn about the 18 kinds of personalities, how your traits combine to form your unique makeup, and how to understand yourself.

One of the things that sets Mordechai Weinberger and Alive! apart is how personal and relatable he is, both on his videos viewed right here on The Lakewood Scoop, and in his book. Using practical advice and personal stories, he brings the messages home in a relevant and familiar way. In fact, being recognized helps keep him true to his lessons and living up to what he teaches. Weinberger explains:

Once I was in a store with some of my kids, and one of them wasn’t behaving. I was about to become upset and shout at my child when another shopper came over to me and exclaimed, “Are you Mordechai Weinberger? I listen to your lessons all the time — they’ve changed my life!” After that, I knew I had to keep it together and live up to the lessons I teach.

Over the years, the name Mordechai Weinberger has become synonymous with practical advice on living a better and more vibrant life. With a radio program streamed on multiple platforms and listened to by thousands of people, shiurim translated into Yiddish and sold through Uvilechtichu Baderech, he was deluged by appeals that his lessons be available in written form. Finally, by popular request, Weinberger’s phenomenal new book, Alive! is now available.
