Following the lead of several Lakewood Batei Medrashim, a local Yeshivah this past week installed cell phone lockers in an effort to increase the Kavod Beis Medrash.
The Yeshivah is reportedly the first Yeshivah in Lakewood to install the lockers.
Similar to those installed in Satmar and other Shuls, outside the Bais Medrash of the Yeshiva Ruach Hatorah, there are now two dozen cell phone lockers with built-in phone chargers – under lock and key.
The first cell phone lockers in Lakewood were installed at the Williams Street Shul two years ago.

the new york board of education, beginning today, now allows students to bring cell phones to school. teachers are furious. aren’t there enuf distractions which already compromise learning? what’s to stop students from taking videos of what goes on in the classroom?
