Dear Editor, This past Shabbos klal yisroel suffered a major tragedy, and being that we’re one nation, we feel this togetherness with the Sassoon family.
I’m not related to them, and in fact I don’t know them. However, I believe being a yid is caring by doing some extra Zechus for them.
On one hand, we are sitting in shock of what happened last Shabbos, and on the other hand we’re looking for something extra we can do as a Zechus.
Rav Yitzchok Sorotzkin Shilta spoke last night regarding the Kedusha of Shabbos and how careful a person must be to make sure the Shabbos is treated with its full respect, by anticipating its arrival and not wait for the last minute before the Zeman doing things.
I would like to make two small suggestions.
Perhaps this shabbos the women should accept Shabbos 10 minutes earlier with lighting the Shabbos Neiros and saying Tehillim for those 10 minutes for Mrs. Sassoon and her daughter.
The second idea is for the men to perhaps have an extra Learning Sedar this Erev Shabbos 30-45 minutes before Mincha, this way we come into Shabbos in a delighted and more meaningful way.
May Hkb”h accept our Zechusim and we should only hear Besuros Tovas.
Good Shabbos and Chag Kosher Vsameach.
A caring yid
