The Township Committee last night inquired about leasing an additional or two Pothole Killer machines to expedite the pothole-filling process around Lakewood.
The Committee, who made it clear to the DPW last night that no costs should be spared in filling the potholes around town – whether it’s with a cold or hot patch – said the situation needs to improve faster, and the Pothole Killer machines may be the best option.
“I think we should look into extending the lease, and perhaps lease another one or two,” said Mayor Albert Akerman.
“Service is a priority here,” said Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller.
A meeting between the Mayor, Committeeman Ray Coles and the DPW is expected to be held today to discuss the options.

I think they’ve filled 4 potholes so far. Had they had a 2nd truck it coulda been 8…..
It looks to me that doing it by hand is faster and more accurate. This looks like a way for the township to save money by paying less for labor.
it’s about time they got more trucks. I’ve seen the truck maybe twice.
These trucks were the plan to expedite the massive pothole problem. No brainer , we need some more trucks
They have to learn how to use the machine and fill the holes smoothly. The only real eita for many streets is to repave the whole thing.
