  1. is there a tremendous shortage of spots this year?

i hear that there’s a number of new schools opening up as well some of the older schools in Lakewood adding on more classes

  2. #1 as is often the case, BH there are enough spots this year. Last year was a problem but not this year. However, parents must realize that getting into an old establsihed school of your choice may not be practical. Even schools with 5 classes get full from siblings, alumni, & school employees before they have any spots for the public. A much smarter approach is for parents to research the new schools and just go with one of those schools. And as you say this year there are lots of options. One of these new schools has to be good. And there are lots of benefits to new small schools as well.

I’ll add one more thing for those concerned about the lack of experience of a new school. Most of them (I can’t speak for every one) hire only experienced teachers and principals. An established school may not be as concerned about that issue. In fact new schools usually go the extra mile to davka hire experts so that they alleviate the parent body’s fears.
