Township Expected to Pass Phase 1 of Multimillion Dollar Road Repair Project

south clifton 2The Township Committee is expected to pass the first phase of a multimillion dollar road repair project, Mayor Akerman confirms to TLS.

The $6.5 million bonding is phase one of an approximately $15 million multi-year project the Township proposed to repair many roads around town that are in desperate need of repaving, the Mayor says.

The roads being repaved would obviously only be Township roads, and not County or State.

The project, if approved, would begin in the next couple of months, and could last several years, Akerman says.

  1. Before they start paving I hope they make a 5 year or so no new digging etc. on that road unless repairs like the state does on the 9 did anyone see oak road they just paved the road in front of a construction site?!! and today i noticed there are markings on the road like they are about to DIG IT UP!!!!

  2. Mayor Ackerman mentioned in an article that the township is looking into
better sealing standards/methods of holes dug into the asphalt that is durable and will not leave seems .
Please make these new rules first and then start repaving .
Otherwise within a few months the roads will pockmarked again .
