The sweep by law enforcement personnel from several agencies today resulted in the arrests of over 30 people, Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy tells TLS.
As first reported on TLS, the massive sweep began around 5:30 AM when dozens of Sheriff’s Officers, US Marshals, ICE and Lakewood Police officers converged on the Highpoint Condominium complex in search of multiple suspects.
The initial raid resulted in the arrests of seven suspects with a range of criminal warrants, Mastronardy says.
The raid, says the Sheriff, was in response to the public’s concern of public safety in the area.
The development over the years has seen a number of shootings and other criminally-related activities, according to officials.
But with those suspects in custody and the dozens of officers already in Lakewood, they decided to conduct a second round of arrests.
A second phase was initiatied, and officers rounded up approximately 27 people who owed a combined $300,000 in child support, Mastronardy says.
“It was an efficient, effective and safe day,” Mastronardy says.

I wish you had found my ex-husband! He owes over $105,000 in back child support!
OK, so let me fully understand this. The reason for the raid was because of complaints regarding public safety and reports of drugs in the area. If I remember correctly yesterday it said, ONE person was arrested for drug possession, while all the rest were for outstanding warrants for Child Support, and a few illegals??? So my question is this. How did this address the public concerns again about the drug activity in the area??? Because everyone knows its in abundance there and in other areas of town. Its quite obvious the Sheriff’s Dept, Bounty Hunters, and INS knew where to go. Those units have one way in and two ways out, being the front door or the balcony. So once they opened the front door they had no place to run. So please explain to me what what was the need for the helicopters, and all that manpower?? Sounds like a use of unnecessary manpower and a waste of tax payers money, but of course that’s J.M.O.
We have been training this type of police force in the middle east for the last 20 yrs this is just the beginning. Good luck America! Hold tight your loved ones.
Great job!! Let’s not forget officers that was killed and shot by drug dealer a couple of years ago!!
