The County Courthouse in Toms River was evacuated moments ago due to a bomb threat, according to a source on scene.
“They told us to evacuate the building – I overheard them saying it was a bomb threat,” the source said. He continued to say he received a confirmation from an officer on scene that it was indeed a bomb threat, though the officer did not wish to go on the record.
Everyone from the courthouse was evacuated and were told to remain a block away, the source said.
Ocean County K9 dogs and multiple emergency vehicles have responded and are investigating.
The incident comes just days after several malls and schools were ‘swatted.’ It’s unknown if the incidents are connected.
UPDATE 3:30 PM: The All-clear has been given, and courthouse sessions are resuming, sources said. An investigation into the threat is underway.
