The victim tells TLS “the Detective discovered the expensive jewelry on a website that lists pawn shop items.”

  1. It seems like it would be cheaper to clean the house by themselves instead of having someone to do it for you

  2. Thank you officer Cavallo – if these laws were enforced, people would be afraid to steal – some of us cannot manage to clean the house ourselves (and work, and take care of the husband and kids, errands, bills……) Hopefully these arrests will be publicised in the newspapers that the perpetrators read!

  3. Well, the moral of this story is- to never leave anything expensive around the house or where it’s easily exeseble by cleaning lady. Yes, we can’t manage without cleaning help, and its very important , sometime to have one. But we have to remember that , All the valuables should be kept in a secure place. Ofcouse if its there for a cleaning lady to see, you think that she will not take? May be some are more decent then others , but you never know…. I hope readers will be more careful …

  4. Obviously it would be cheaper to clean your house yourself. It would also be cheaper to build your own car and be your own lawyer…

  5. @chaim
    It’s not a public website.
It’s called BWI (business watch international) or RAPID software. It is only used by pawnshops / we-buy-gold or jewelry shops. The shops upload the items, descriptions, and photos and only law enforcement have access.
If only 25% of stolen and sold items were actually reported by shops then theft would cease !
