Brick Police Arrest Pool Service Man from Lakewood for Allegedly Stealing Pumps from Customers

pool tls (2)A pool service employee from Lakewood was arrested by Brick Police in connection with stealing from clients of the company he worked for, police say.

During the week of July 19, the Brick Township Police Department investigated reports of pool pumps and other pool items being stolen from four separate residences.

Detective Brenden Barnes was assigned to investigate, and began looking into possible connections between these events. During his investigation, Detective Barnes was able to confirm that all of the victims had utilized the same local pool company for their pool service.

With the cooperation of the pool company, Detective Barnes was able to identify the 29-year-old Lakewood man, an employee of the company, as the suspect in the thefts.

On July 29, 2015, the suspect responded to Brick Township Police Headquarters where he was subsequently charged by Detective Barnes with four counts of theft. The approximate value of the items stolen was in excess of $3,000.00. He was processed at Brick Township Police Headquarters and released on a criminal summons with a pending court date.
