Snow plowing in Lakewood could become more efficient as the Department of Public Works enhances their communication systems, TLS has learned.
DPW Suervisor Tony Arrechi tells TLS the department is upgrading their systems to include tracking of vehicles for snow plowing, looking to provide live reporting.
The way that would be done, says Arrechi, would be through their GPS-equipped radios, which are equipped with sensors that are interfaced with the plows.
As a result, the DPW can receive live updates on when a street will be plowed, and when it was completed, so they can maximize the plowing equipment, Arrechi says.

“could become” will it, probably not. will your street be plowed? the plow “could come,” and probably will come, if they get to it before the sun or warmer weather reaches it.
Oh ! Can’t wait for snow !
Hmmm, that was pretty cryptic. Using key words like “radios”, “interfaced” & “sensors”. However, in reality, none of these will speed up the process. Sad but true.
