AS FIRST REPORTED WORLDWIDE BY TLS: After 30 Years in Prison, Jonathan Pollard to be Released; Statement from Attorney

pollard orig[SEE PHOTOS] [UPDATE: STATEMENT FROM ATTORNEY BELOW] As first reported by TLS about 10 days ago, Jonathan Pollard will be released at the end of his 30th year in prison.

At 8:16 AM on July 17, TLS was the first media outlet worldwide to report that Jonathan Pollard would be released after 30 years of his life prison term. The exclusive and breaking report stemmed from a well-placed source in the U.S. Senate.

statement pollard 1 Shortly after we reported it, his wife, Esther Pollard, as well as Askonim involved requested that TLS take down the article due to its sensitive nature. Following that, we were inundated with emails and calls, some even accusing us of falsifying our report, which appeared evident by the fact that we removed the article. But that wasn’t the case.

In fact, our source in the senate prior to our posting confirmed that he would be released, despite it not yet being “signed on the dotted line,” and despite the fact that even some of those directly involved in the case were unaware of it.

statement pollard 2Today, it was announced to his attorney that he would be released on November 21, exactly 30 years to the day of his imprisonment. There are some restrictions regarding his parole, says a source familiar with the case, which are not being made public at this time.

  1. That’s wonderful news!!! Next on the list….shalom Mordechai rubashkin. Let it not be 30 years before we see him walking around again a free man

  2. one major restriction is that he will not be allowed to make aliya—unfair and unrelenting bias—i will continue to daven for him until the gates are closed behind him

  3. it ain’t over, as the saying goes, ’til the fat lady sings. it’s a long way to november. we all hope and pray that he will be released in good health, but don’t hold your breath

  4. I wonder if the are trying to placate Israel with letting Pollard go. The irony in that would be incredible. He got put in jail to save Israel from Iraq’s nukes and will be released to help Iran get nukes.
