We regret to inform you of the Petirah of Reb Yisroel Meir Yagen Z”L, a son-in-law of Harav Gershon Ribner Shlita, who was Niftar a short time ago following a lengthy illness. He was in his early 30’s.
Reb Yisroel Meir Z”L, a Talmid Chacham in his own right, leaves behind a wife and three children.
The Levaya will be taking place at 12 PM in the BMG dining room Monday, and the Kevurah will be taking place in Eretz Yisroel.

Many of us have probably seen this masmid is yeshiva, and just never got his name….
For all I know, he sat right next to me in Yeshiva, and we spoke in learning many times. ..

R’ Yisroel Meir z”l was also the son of the gaon and tzadik HaRav Yosef Yagen shlit”a originally of Yerushalayim and currently of Monsey. He comes from a long line of tzadikim, talmidei chachomim. Rav Yosef, too, just got up from sitting shiva for his great brother R’ Avrohom Yagen. The niftar’s uncle was the great talmid chochom and ish chesed HaGaon Rav Nissan Yagen z”l, a Lakewood talmid who eventually was responsible for bringing 100s, probably 1000’s, of Yidden back to Torah u’mitzvos.

He was a huge tzadik and tremendous Talmid chacham
HaShem should give his wife and children strength

upon finishing the levaya let us all return to the Bais Medrash
& start doing teshuva so these tzaros can end & this never happens again

Nichum V’Nechamah: To Comfort and Be Comforted – A Guide to the Mitzvah of Nichum Aveilim, an audiovisual presentation. It has many excellent speakers and a lot of material that gives perspective on how to cope with loss and deal with those who have been affected by it.
Comfort, Courage and Clarity – a blog by Mrs. Miriam Ribiat, which addresses topics dealing with mourning and loss.
The Neshamah Should Have an Aliyah – a book by Rabbi Tzvi Hebel, which guides readers in how to benefit the neshamos of those who have passed on through our deeds and actions in this world.
Hard to see such a tzara in what is times of nechama – one word of chizuk that helps in such a time is the pasuk – l’hagid baboker chasdecha v’emunasch b’layla – who will be able to tell of experiencing chesed in the mornings – those people who keep their emuna in the nighttime – in the dark times – let us all be b’achdus and keep our emuna during these dark times so that we will quickly be zocheh to see the ultimate chesed from Hashem by bringing the geulah b’karov –

Yisroel Meir was such a sweet & special person even back in our days in elementary school. May his family and gantz klal yisroel have a nechama.
Woe to the generation that needs such a wakeup call. How many more of these must we endure before Moshiach comes? We need Mosiach in our generation. Please join me in doing tshuva. Start by coming to shul on time, showing the kovod to the house of Hashem it deserves. Don’t take your phone into shul and stay until the last kadish. When we properly respect the mikdosh me’at we increase our merit to bring down the Beit HaMikdosh, may it come speedily in OUR GENERATION!
Not enough was said today about his choshuve mother Mrs Sara Yagen. The last 4 years it is she who coordinated and scheduled all of R’ Yisroel Meir’s ztz’l appts and medical care. She is a role model of tznius and chochma and what a devoted mother is. Hashem should give her koiyach and send her a nechama.
I am another classmate of his from bais Mikroh. I have not seen him since 8th grade, but when I read the news this morning it really hit hard. He was such a sweet happy boy.
To all of those who commented on how Hashem should bring the Geulah so that we should have no more tzaros:
Stop blaming this on Hashem! Anyone with a little courage to think will realize that Hashem has already given us a wonderful gift, one that we have not had in 2000 years; namely Eretz Yisroel. Eretz Yisroel is a tremendous project that requires everyone’s involvement. Of course the Geulah is not finished but don’t expect it to happen on its own, i.e. that someone will wake you up when we get there… The Kanfei Nesharim are waiting for you in JFK and there are already over six million Yidden actively participating in the project so its now easier then ever and it will happen much faster if YOU join.
To be sure, 5/6 of Klal Yisroel didnt make it out of Mitzrayim, most of the remaining 1/6 died in the midbar for not trusting Hashem, most of the dor of Ezra also remained behind and didn’t come for Bayis Sheni so this “apathy” is not new. Only the circumstances (i.e. excuses) have changed.
Do you go shopping or do you wait for Hashem to bring you your groceries? Do you have a job or do you wait for Hashem to deposit money in the bank? Do you learn Torah or do you wait for Hashem to make you a Talmid Chochom?
Read Parshas Devarim, V’Escahanan & Eikev one more time and ask yourself why Hashem felt it important to go to such lengths to record Moshe telling Klal Yisroel about the Eretz Yisroel Project. Which generation was this supposed to be lesson for ?
May Hashem open our eyes to see the great opportunity that we all have waiting at our doorstep. And may all of Klal Yisroel have a nechama.
The PURPOSE of the ge’ulah is NOT to put an end to all tzaros. The end of all tzaros is the result of, or among the conditions of, it. The ge’ulah is the time when all that we made of ourselves here can be used, undisturbed, undistracted, to serve HaShem. Tzaros, ill health, etc. are distractions. Therefore they cannot be.
Why dont you read what the Rambam has to say about yemos hamoshiach instead of making half thought out diyukim from three parshiyos at once.
