PHOTOS: Approximately 1,000 Children Attend week-long End-of-Summer Learning & Swimming Program; Additional Location Added

Spruce St 2 learning programApproximately 1,000 have been attending each day of the week-long of the end-of-summer Learning and swimming program held around Lakewood. The program, for boys 5-8 grade, will continue for two more days, Sunday and Monday.

Due to the popular demand, the Old Shul at Park Avenue and 4th Street was added as an additional location to accommodate the boys for surrounding neighborhoods.

The boys learn with a chavrusah each morning from 10:30 – 11:30 AM under the guidance of a supervising Rebbi. Following the Learning, the boys receive a snack and swim pass valid at three pools – Bais Kaila Pool, Toras Aharon Pool, and Shaagas Aryeh Pool for an hour-and-a-half swim in the afternoon. These pool hours have been rented exclusively for the program’s participants.

The program is held at the Shul at Spruce Street, Arlington, Elmwood, Hearthstone, Central Court, West Gate, Ateres Yeshaya, Williams Street, Zichrom Pinchos and Zichron Shneur.

  1. I have 2 boys. This program is definitely the best invention since sliced bread. I’ve never had such a peaceful last few days before Yeshiva started. My sons are busy all day with learning and Kosher extra-curricular activities, swimming, etc.

  2. to “try it” … why poor kids? most did go to daycamps and had a amazing time. some didn’t , so they are ready for some structure. And main thing is : what a the working parents supposed to do??? ( even learning father’s started zman already). every day I go to work worring what my son is doind on his own ,with so much free time.. it’s not a perfect situation, and he would be much better of if school would start already. even half day, without English .

  3. Thank you to the organizers for this great program, and especially for adding the Old Shul location! My sons go happily and come home in a great mood!
