  1. I think this is great. The only time my kid hears about cops is when I am driving and say watch out there is a cop. Kids were also once in my car when I got pulled over at a speed trap coming of a highway in a small town is South Jersey. It was a cordial experience, but kids sensed I wasn’t happy.

My five year old actually asked me if Police are good. I told him they are, but the positive interaction these kids had with this police officer, would go farther than anything I could tell my children

  2. @Tax Payer: There is nothing wrong with police building relationships with those whom they protect! This is an important part of his job, just as is catching criminals. Besides, who said this was during his shift?

  3. In response to the comment submitted by “Taxpayer”:

And I humbly submit that instead of shooting your mouth off you should be open to the idea of catching flies with it.

Why can’t people such as your ilk just like a nice news item go by, untouched, unsullied by your negative rhetoric?

    Good Day.

  4. This is so heartwarming to see the kids shoot a few hoops with a cop – such interaction is healthy, fun, and a good experience. So please don’t go negative, and worry about your tax $$$ – sometimes you have to chill together to build a community.

  5. I think that is great. I think that is perfect I know Sgt Butterworth for sometime and though he can be (moderated)sometimes he is quite knowlegdable to the town and the demographics.
