Authorities Seize Car, Cash and Drugs in Lakewood Investigation

lpd street crimes tlsOn September 23rd, as the result of a joint investigation between the Lakewood Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Toms River Police Department SET Unit, two men were arrested, and the car they were riding in was seized, along with cash and drugs.

Arrested, was a 27-year-old from Lakewood and a 22-year-old from Long Branch.

Detectives involved in the investigation observed the men operating a black 2003 Nissan Altima on Edinburgh Lane in Original Leisure Village.

After the vehicle came to a stop, the Officers approached and observed approximately 6 bricks of heroin on the floor of the vehicle.

Both parties were arrested and further investigation resulted in the recovery of an additional 10 bricks of heroin hidden behind the glovebox.

As a result, both parties were charged with Possession of CDS and Possession with the intent to distribute CDS.

In addition, the 2003 Nissan Altima and approximately $8,000 were seized for forfeiture proceedings.

Bail was set in the amount of $75,000 cash only for Steven Morgan and $15,000 no 10% for Nidaeya Blount. Both were transported to the Ocean County Jail.

  1. Sometimes the people you least expect steal. I know from experience, my grandson stole my watch andi was devastated. But he prayed and I love him.
