A Lakewood woman was killed in a car accident today in Brick, police say.
At about 6:30 AM today, Anne Labrutto, 71, was traveling westbound on Princeton Avenue when the vehicle veered off the road, crashed into a fence and then overturned.
Brick Township Police officers Thergesen #249, Alexander #216, Zurica #242 and Sgt. Oliveri #141 responded to the scene, as well as Laurelton Fire Company, Station 23 to extricate the Driver.
Brick Township Police Department’s Emergency Medical Services along with MONOC Paramedics responded to the scene where Labrutto was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway, police said.
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, CSI and the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit are investigating the incident.

These “medical episodes” are scary. So sad this happened while she was driving. So sad.
