Los Angeles philanthropist and renowned Baal Tzedakah Reb Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz on Friday visited the Tiferes Devorah L’Kallah headquarters in Lakewood.
Reb Shlomo Yehuda, who was in Lakewood for Shabbos for Simcha, was visibly impressed by the large operation of Tiferes Devorah L’Kallah, which was to date serviced over 1,000 Kallahs in Lakewood.
The organization, named after Devorah Jurkanski A”H, provided Kallahs with dishes, flatware, tablecloths, towels, irons, microwaves and much more, at no charge, courtesy of TDL and the generosity of the Lakewood community.
Since its founding 18 years ago, TDL saved Kallahs around Lakewood approximately $5.5 million.
This year’s dinner is being dedicated L’illui Nishmas Mrs. Esther Buchler A”H, who was Niftar a few months ago. Her son, Reb Avrohom (pictured left), is being honored at the upcoming dinner, taking place this coming Motzei Shabbos December 5, at Ateres Chana (Bais Faiga Hall).

Reb Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz is an askan par excellance. Beside the generosity of his wealth that he gives away to all causes. He is a person that takes action and makes a difference. Look what he did to Yeshivas Mir Yerushalyim and other mosdos. His heart, concern and dedication is truly amazing. What I think stands out above all is his eiyin tovah to every single person. He doesn’t talk negative or put down other people, he speaks and sees the good in others and brings them up. Not everyone is blessed with wealth, generosity & ability to be able to give but everyone can have an eiyin tovah. So yes you can be like Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz! Have an eiyin tovah to one another and we will zoicheh to the geula bimihairuh.
TDL great organization good eye R’ Shlomo Yehuda.
Wow! Im very happy for TDL. They play such a vital role in the Lakewood community. May R Shloime Yehuda and all those that help TDL be gebentched
Eventhough the is a function almost every evening, most of them are not for an organization that’s for the entire community. TDL is from the few organizations that are for the entire community. Among them is Tomchai Shabbos & Hatzolah
Let us not forget to mention the behind the scenes askanus of reb cmg
What an Amazing organization! Everything from the storage ,showrooms and showing of the items is run by selfless volunteers. TDL is quietly and effectively helping the klal in Lakewood make there simchas be truely special. Keep up the great work!
