VIDEO & PHOTOS: Arizona Man Donates Two Expectant Donkeys to Benefit Renewal by Sharing the Rare Mitzvah of Pidyon Petter Chamor [UPDATED]

donkey renewalAn Arizona man who was the recipient of Renewal’s services, has donated two expectant donkeys in hopes of raising funds for the organization that helped him renew his health.

The man, occupying several hundred acres of land on the outskirts of Geronimo, was gravely suffering kidney disease. During the course of his treatment, Rabbi Ariel Shoshan of Scottsdale, Arizona suggested that he purchase two donkeys, babies at the time, in hopes of fulfilling the rare Mitzvah Pidyon Petter Chamor. Shortly thereafter, he received a kidney and is currently enjoying good health.

The very animals are due to give birth imminently.

Being that the owner of the donkeys is a Levi, thereby preventing him from performing the Mitzvah, he transferred ownership to Rabbi Shoshan, with the Haskamah of Rabbi Yaakov Forchheimer, of Lakewood.

3Should the newborns be male, they will be eligible for a truly Mehudar performance of the Mitzvah.

In an effort to increase the Zechus of this extraordinary occurrence, Rabbi Shoshan and his friend Neal Brooks are offering exclusive ownership shares in the donkeys to those individuals who would like to participate in the mitzvah.

donkey 1“Extending ownership to others will multiply the merits associated with this distinctive opportunity,” says Rabbi Shoshan.

The proceeds from the sale of shares will benefit Renewal, the same organization that facilitated the owner’s transplant.

The convenient online acquisition method to acquire partnership has been developed under the auspices of Hagaon Rav Eliyahu Levin Shlita, of Kollel Choshen Mishpat of Lakewood.

To partake in this unique mitzvah, (Beginning at $100) go to http://www.pidyonchamor.org/ to learn how to become a shareholder. Ownership must be assumed prior to the birth of the foals.
