PHOTOS: ‘Play It Safe’ for Your Safety: Lakewood’s Guardians Hit the Lanes At 2015 Bowling Tournament

lcsw1By C.M. ‘Play It Safe’ got Lakewood’s finest men and women all worked up as they put their bowling skills to test at the annual ‘Play It Safe’ Joint LCSW-PBA Bowling Tournament. This annual expression of the unique relationship and mutual respect between members of the Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch and the Police Department was attended by many of the area’s VIPs including Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy, Mayor Isaac Ackerman, Police Chief Rob Lawson and Township Committee Members, as they went out of their way to show their support for the bravery and selflessness of the members of both groups and of course have a great time all around.

The event got underway with the opening ball thrown by the Event Chairman, Township Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein getting the crowd hyped up for a great tournament. Coaching the event were national “Hall of Fame” bowling champion Parker Bohn III and silver bowler Dave Kline, who in addition to performing live trick shots mingled with the crowd, providing autographs and one-on-one coaching. Most notable of all trick shots and a definite highlight of the evening was the perfect shot taken by Parker Bohn under a line of chairs that held Sheriff Mastronardy, Chief Lawson, and Committeeman Lichtenstein – to the enjoyment of all.

The evening was made possible by the support of a line-up of generous corporate sponsors, many of whom brought corporate teams to participate in the tournament, eager for the opportunity to meet Lakewood’s finest firsthand. Event sponsors included: Provident Bank, Investors Bank, JCP&L, First Energy Foundation, The Law Firm of Bathgate, Wegener and Wolf, Autumn Lake Healthcare, Woodhaven Lumber, Monmouth Medical Center, Lakewood Exxon Mobile, Kosher 2 Go, Provident Bank, Wireless Communications and Electronics, Lakewood MUA, Elite Emergency Lights, Hunter Technologies, Barina Automotive Services, Towne Nursing, Arkady’s Auto Repair, and The Lakewood Scoop.

At the conclusion of the event, sponsors were presented with trophies by Event Chairman Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, LCSW and the PBA Local 71. The event culminated with the presentation to LCSW and the PBA of generous allotments from this year’s event sponsors, with all participants looking forward to next year’s event to celebrate this unique bond and joint mission.
