Couple Launches Organization Aimed at Giving Jobs to American Wives of Yungerleit in Israel

eretz yisroel tls 2[Submitted by the founders]”…So in the mornings I just sleep until its time to make lunch, looking forward to the afternoons when I’ll get my ice coffee from Sams…”
“…I work at some Israeli woman’s home cutting material and gluing bows onto headbands…”
“…I twiddle my pinky fingers because variety is the spice of life…”
“…I get tons of Limud Hatorah Zechusim as I wait anxiously by the door for what seems like an eternity, for my husband to return from Seder…”

Well, If that’s what occupies your day in Israel, what was your day like when you lived in America?

“…I went to college every day and taught three times a week…”
“…I worked as an office secretary…”
“…I worked as the Administrator of a medical referral agency and oversaw all case loads while coordinating the office tasks…
“…I worked as a travel agent, drew graphic design, moonlighted as a tour operator and went to PA school at night…”

So many girls are living in Eretz Yisroel through the kindness and generosity of their parents so that their husbands can sit and learn without any financial worries, yet they themselves are desperately, dangerously bored. They want to stay in Eretz Yisroel, as their husbands are clearly content with their learning, but their wives find the system very difficult as most of them don’t speak a fluent Hebrew and find themselves treading in a culture that is foreign to them.

Will they ever find the opportunity to work for an online American company to allow their husbands just a few more years to sit and learn, without becoming a financial burden on their families?

These women are just as capable, educated and professional as their counterparts in America. Most are up to date in their computer skills and sound educated and professional on the phone. If you’re looking to hire, please strongly consider the wives of the these kollel yungerleit.

If they don’t pick up the phone on the first ring, you probably won’t have to wait long for a return call.

Email [email protected] to offer positions to the women.

  1. Wow. What timing. I just returned from EY this morning. While I was there I spoke to my 2 married nieces living there. The challenges for the women to find productive work is immense. There is alot of time, too much time, with “nothing to do”. No family to visit. No shopping. No family Simchos. It’s very hard. I hope these job organizers can help with this issue. Hatzlocha rabbah !!

  2. This is great news. In general, Americans in Israel don’t know the instructions and outs like the Israelis who grew up in the country and knows the way things work. However, there is no question about it that there is a lot of talent and they would most probably do a great job. This should have a lot of Hatzlacha.
