A former Lakewood resident has been appointed this evening to the Ocean County Board of Freeholders, TLS has learned.

Former Assemblywoman and NJ Lottery Director Ginny Haines, 69, will fill the unexpired term of retired Freeholder James F. Lacey on the Ocean County Board of Freeholders.

The appointed was made by the County Committee members during a meeting this evening, attended by approximately 200 County Committee members.

Haines, the only woman on the 5-member board, will serve the remainder of the term, but will need to be nominated again by the Board to run for the full 3-year term next year.
