busing drill school busSo here’s the latest: Today, eight of the 21 bus routes affected by Durham dropping out were taken, leaving over 13 routes untaken. Meaning, beginning Tuesday, hundreds of children will not have busing.

Many of the routes that were picked up, were picked up at nearly double the price.

As earlier reported, the children without busing are from the non-public schools.

When we asked what happens to the children without routes, a Board official answered, “good question.”

  1. Hundreds left without bussing beginning Tuesday? There were hundreds of kids eligible for mandated bussing waiting from the beginning of the year!! What about them? Why not the urgency to get them a bus??

  2. Well said, still waiting. Does the hundreds include those who haven’t had busing from the get go? Why do those who have had busing until now and are now having it dropped get first dibs? Maybe those who have had to carpool from September until now should get busing and let some other parents carpool! Why aren’t our kids getting their mandated busing????

  3. Btw, the hundreds that the article above is talking about is only the remainder of the durham bus routes that got cancelled this past week. There are additional hundreds that are remaining from the beginning of the year still waiting for a bus!!
