VIDEO: Driver Extricated from Vehicle on Rt. 88; Investigation Shuts part of State Highway in both Directions

extric 88VIDEO: A driver was injured and needed to be extricated from his vehicle following an accident on Route 88, as reported on our news alerts.

The accident occurred around 2:30 PM.

Another accident occurred within minutes a short distance away, police say.

The extricated driver was transported by EMS to JSMUC with serious injuries.

Lakewood’s Traffic and Safety and the Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the accident.

Route 88 could be shut for several hours, police say.
