3 Hours left to help these 6 Sisters Standing Strong

3 hours[COMMUNICATED] Last chance to join! Only 3 hours left. We were just an ordinary family, six sisters sandwiching one brother. With three married daughters and 8 grandchildren, our parents were in the prime of their lives, shepping nachas from the grandchildren while busily raising their three daughters still at home. In her “free time”, our mother volunteered for many community organizations, not turning down opportunities even when it was challenging. She gave of her time tremendously to benefit the klal.

In October 2014, just two months before our youngest sister’s bas mitzvah, our dear mother was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer. Overnight, we were struck with fear and panic, terrified of the diagnosis and what the future would hold. Many of us were too overwhelmed to tell even our closest friends, seeking comfort in each other and in our parents instead. We held daily conference calls to get updates as we learned more about our mother’s illness and treatment. From the beginning, our parents were strong in their emuna, filling us with hope about the future and encouraging us to daven.

Our mother has played a huge role in helping us learn to face her illness. She has been a tremendous source of chizuk, not just for us, but for all who know her. She is full of life and love, inspiring everyone around her with her strength and fortitude in battling her illness on all levels. She inspires us to stretch past our comfort zones and do MORE for klal yisrael.

This pesach, all six of us spent part of yom tov together. We talked about yet another upcoming surgery and brainstormed about a campaign for a zechus for a refuah shelaima for our mother, Ruchama Leah Fayga Sussyah bas Chava Breindel. We wanted a project that would reach as many people as possible to generate a tremendous zechus for our mother, so we chose charidy.com as a platform. A natural choice for the recipient organization was Keren Hakayitz, which was started by our sister Suri Robinson of Lakewood. Keren Hakayitz funds day camp for children going through family crises, making a difference in the lives of children and their families. We started with a modest goal of $20,000, and set out to find matchers. We turned to our extended family and friends, as well as our sister Shani’s neighborhood, Somerset Walk, to provide matching pledges. The response to our campaign was overwhelming and heartwarming. Our mother is everyone’s favorite person to be around, and those we approached were grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this meaningful project. Quickly, it became clear that we needed to raise our goal to $40,000. We happily undertook the additional efforts to make that possible.

We are now wrapping up the campaign, and are in our bonus round. Every donation is doubled, thanks to the generosity of our good friends. We’re counting on you to join us by participating in our campaign. Knowing what it’s like to go through difficult circumstances, we’re asking you to do MORE so we can help MORE children struggling with their own family circumstances. The event ends at 12 PM today. Don’y miss the opportunity to be part of a very special campaign. The outpouring of love and support has been a tremendous Chizuk for all of us, and for the families that Keren Hakayitz helps.
