Lakewood Police Chief: Zero Home Burglaries over Yom Tov

lawson pesachThere were no reported burglaries in all of Lakewood over Yom Tov, Police Chief Rob Lawson tells TLS.

The Chief says there were extra Lakewood police officers and Class 2 officers on duty over Yom Tov, in addition to the Sheriff’s officers Sheriff Mastronardy offered to help patrol Lakewood.

Approximately 130 homeowners took advantage of the service the police department offered for those going away for Yom Tov, the Chief says.

Those who registered to have their homes checked, had police officers actually get out of their vehicles and conduct a check around the premises. Homes were checked on several times over Yom Tov.

In one or two cases, says Chief Lawson, officers actually found the door to the home left unlocked, and secured the door of the residence.
