Q and A with Ralph Lasry, COO of 1on1 Development; Software and Web Development as a Parnassah

ralph l[COMMUNICATED] Tonight PCS is hosting their Software and Web Development Course Open House at 7:30 PM at PCS.

In anticipation of the fourth cohort of their successful Software and Web Development Course, PCS spoke to Ralph Lasry, course graduate and COO of 1on1 Development.

Q: Please tell us about your current programing job. How did the PCS Software and Web Development Course prepare you for your career?

A: Currently, I’m COO at 1on1 Development, an amazing team of 35 brilliant and creative software engineers. Although I don’t code much anymore, it is the coding knowledge I learned at PCS that allows me to lead the company.

Q: Is software and web development currently a lucrative field to enter?

A:     Software developers are some of the highest paid people on earth. There are millions of people running to learn code in order to tap into this flourishing, multi-trillion dollar industry. Attaining success in this field does require hard work and diligence just like every other professional field.

Q: For whom would you recommend this field?

A: Software development is an enormous industry with great opportunities for all types of personalities and skill sets. Once you learn the basics, you open yourself to a multitude of areas, positions and specialties of the software development industry, many of which do not even require actual coding.

While actual coding is not required for these positions, the knowledge of coding is a key component to success.

Q: Why is it important to receive proper training from industry experts before entering this field?

Learning the basics from industry experts will give you the foundation to build upon. Industry experts expose you to a well-rounded set of skills and a broader knowledge base. While there may be many correct ways to write code, there are many more incorrect ways. Getting your foundation from experts will allow you to know the difference.
