VIDEO: Mordechai Weinberger describes what it feels like to have ADHD

mw[VIDEO BELOW] Many families struggle with a child or spouse that suffers from ADHD. Most of us have heard the controversy regarding if ADHD is over diagnosed. What most of us don’t know is “HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE ADHD”? “WHAT ARE THEY POSSIBLY THINKING WHEN THEY ACT LIKE THAT”?

Mordechai Weinberger LCSW has Given in a live demonstrations in front of hundreds of people at the Keiravtuni event to simplify what it feels like to be a child sitting in class when a teacher or a Rebbe is teaching and they are noticing all the distractions in the room.

Mordechai has further demonstrated what it feels like for an adult husband that has ADHD and is sent to the grocery just to buy garbage bags and comes home with shopping carts of everything else but the garbage bags.

We hope this video will help shed some awareness into the ADHD discussion and that families will have more awareness and understanding to ADHD.

  1. Sounds like my life on a regular day. As I am watching the video I am posting comment while answering texts (and I think I ate supper).

    Well done!

  2. Thank you for this presentation. My son was diagnosed with ADHD. I never really understood what its like being in his mind. Since you posted this article I already informed all my relatives that are dealing with ADHD (especially the adult ADHD’s that were never diagnosed but their spouses suffer from it). I also called my sons rebbe to watch it. This way he can better understand my son.

Thank you TLS. Thank You Mordechai.
    Another great informational article TLS…

  3. Ha Ha. Very funny. I was gonna watch it, to see how my brain works. Then I noticed the time. It’s an hour and 19 minutes. Anyone who can watch this guy for 1:19 is NOT ADHD. Therefore, no ADHD guy can comment on this. I watched about 3 min before he lost me, but it sounded about right. I’ve forgotten the “garbage bags” many times, bringing home bags of fruit, paper goods, coffee cups, with LIDS, cake, herring etc etc. I thought I was an absent-minded iluy. Now he says it’s my ADHD. What a letdown!!

  4. Moderator, this is a better version, if you havent posted the previous one:
Excellent demonstration and explanation. I would like to add that ADHD is a spectrum disorder, where there are different degrees of severity. Also, when adults learn the skills to help them calm their minds and channel their strengths, they are often more successful than those who don’t have ADHD. It can be considered a sort of genius, similar to the music, art, or math genius, where their strengths are in one area at the expense of other important ones. They can learn techniques to become more balanced in other areas and be successful husbands, wives, parents, employees, etc.

Another interesting thing about those with ADHD is the frequency of procrastination, consciously or not, in order to CREATE emergencies so they can actually get tasks done!
