BREAKING: Lakewood home destroyed in blaze [VIDEOS & PHOTOS – UPDATED]

image [VIDEO BELOW] A Lakewood home was destroyed in a large blaze this afternoon.

The fire broke out at the 7th Street home shortly after 3 PM, and flames began shooting from the attic and side of the home, quickly spreading to the upper floor of the newly-renovated home.

Moments after the firefighters’ arrival, an explosion was heard inside the home, and the windows were blasted out.

The 3-alarm fire prompted the response from multiple surrounding townships.

The home was mostly destroyed in the blaze, along with its contents, but Baruch Hashem nobody was injured.

Upon arriving home and seeing his home burning, the homeowner calmly stated, “It’s only money.”

With the family set to make a Simcha this week, neighbors and Askonim immediately got to work and got in touch with stores around Lakewood to help the family with clothing and food.

“Please give over to the family that I’m very happy to open my shoe store for them so the kids can have shoes for Shabbos,” the owner of a Shoe Dream told TLS.

  1. OK, let’s try this: Thanks to our fantastic and all-knowing Township Committee, together with TLS advertisers, these fires are so rare that everyone is completely surprised when they occur. Fortunately, our awesome elected officials, using almost none of the taxpayers’ funds, have arranged for nearby towns to put out Lakewood’s fires without any chance of danger to our residents. We should be eternally grateful for the tremendous foresight of our saintly leaders, who have been immunized from any scintilla of criticism because they always know what’s best for everyone. After all, they saved us almost TWO WHOLE DOLLARS each by working to eliminate unnecessary fire protection this year. Have a gut Shabbos.

  2. Big thanks to all that helped and all that wanted to help. People opened their homes, stores and everything in between. Amazing!!! מי כעמך ישראל

  3. Now that we see the great power of Chessed and Achdus in our community, we shall be sure that every family, Yungerleit, and Baalei battim, more so Almanos and Yesomim R”L, etc., have their needs tended to, to the best of our ability, which is so elegantly apparent.

    Simchos BiSimcha!

  4. This guy has a good point.
We don’t have to wait for wake up calls to do what’s right.
Struggling Yungerleit need financial help, The Mosdos Hachinuch need our help, Cholim [the sick] need our help. The list goes on. The more we do, makes Hashem proud of us!
