In April, 2015, the LRRC began accepting new NJ FamilyCare applications as well as proofs of pregnancy or birth at its Second Street office and delivering them to the Ocean County Board of Social Services on behalf of its clients. We moved this service to the CHEMED building in February, 2016.
We are currently in the process of reevaluating our programs and services in an effort to cut down our wait times and maximize our resources to best serve the community. After careful consideration, we decided to change the way we implement this service.
Instead of limiting the service to Tuesdays in CHEMED, effective immediately, we will be reviewing NJ FamilyCare applications in our Second Street office all week long during our regular walk-in hours. We will provide anyone whose application is complete with a checklist to include with their application so that that Board of Social Services is aware that the LRRC reviewed the application.
We will no longer deliver the applications or proofs to the Board of Social Services – we recommend mailing them using the USPS Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested service.
Please continue to contact our office with any questions or issues regarding your Medicaid coverage. We look forward to continuing to help you with all your social service needs.
In addition to our normal business hours, the LRRC has extended its hours to include additional call-in hours on Monday evenings from 8:00 to 10:00 pm. The LRRC is located at 212 Second Street, Suite 204 in Lakewood and can be reached at 732-942-9292.
