  1. How can this be “We the people?” Have we elected delegates to change the constitution?

BTW The governor will have change the NJ Constitution to get his new plan enacted. 3/5 of the legislature (or any right minded person) will not modify the “Thorough and Efficient” clause of the NJ Constitution and its interpretation by the NJ Supreme Court giving every child a level playing field to start out their life.

  2. In my opinion it’s a bad idea. Like screens on windows give children a false sense of security. The few lights that go up (at an offensive cost) will lead people to believe that they don’t need to wear reflectors or be vigilant with their own safety.

  3. Comment by “total” is exactly right! We demand and demand, but don’t want to pay for it. Yes, there is a lot of waste and if money would be budgeted better, taxes wouldn’t have to be raised, but as things stand, this isn’t the case. Earth to people, someone has to pay for expenses!

  4. people who are walking in the streets at night all dressed in black don’t help with the problem. Just like drivers need to follow the rules so do walkers. there would be less problems also if everyone would also not be in such a rush all the time.

  5. Let’s face it, the street lights aren’t needed as much as those walking should use the sidewalks that were and are being built. Stay out of the ROAD
