Dovid Egert files to run for Board of Education, Challenge Incumbents

boe meetingThe deadline to file to run for in the 2016 School Board elections was this afternoon.

All Ocean County school districts now hold their Board of Education elections in November.

Four candidates filed to run for three 3-year-term seats, and nobody filed to fill the unexpired one-year-term.

Incumbents running are Barry Iann, Moshe Newhouse and Isaac Zlatkin. Dovid Egert filed to challenge the incumbents for one of the three-year-term seats.

egert alabamaEarlier this year, Egert filed to run for Fire Commissioner but then backed out of the race.

A total of 70 school board seats will appear on the November ballot in various school districts throughout Ocean County. Elections are November 8.
