PHOTOS: Lakewood Camp Counselor Injured after basketball backboard Shatters

basketball 1A Lakewood camp counselor was injured this afternoon during a basketball game when the basketball backboard shattered.

The accident happened around 3:30 PM while the approximately 20-year-old counselor was having a game with campers. The impact from the shot shattered the backboard, and sent the glass flying all over the counselor.

Hatzolah reportedly treated the counselor for cuts to his face and legs, before transporting him to JSUMC. No other children were injured in the incident.

  1. The glass isn’t supposed to shatter but apparently with the tremendous heat and the impact this happened. I smell a good opportunity for a small claims lawsuit.
